2011 Law Research Studentships for MPhil and PhD Students at University of London, UK

The college is offering two research studentships for MPhil/PhD programme. One of the studentships is named to commemorate the contribution of Dr Ronnie Warrington to legal scholarship and education and to the establishment of this Law School. The School welcomes applications for the studentships in all core areas of the curriculum. A strong interest in legal theory, socio-legal approaches and to interdisciplinary research would be an advantage.
-The Ronnie Warrington Studentship may be awarded by the College on the recommendation of the School’s Research committee to a candidate with an outstanding academic record who shows high research potential. The award will be made for MPhil/PhD research study only.
-Awards may be made for full-time or part-time study and to Home, EU students or International students.
-Candidates will be expected to fulfil similar academic criteria to those demanded by external funding bodies. They will normally possess at least an upper second class honours degree or equivalent, and will preferably possess a Masters degree.
-Candidates must apply through the School on the application form provided.
-Preference will be given to new students.
In 2011 the Ronnie Warrington award will cover the cost of fees plus a maintenance award: £9,000 for a full-time student; pro-rated at 50% for part-time students to £4,500 per year.
The second award will cover the cost of fees for a full-time or part-time study at the Home, EU rate. Where an award is made to an international student, the student will be liable for the balance of their fees for the duration of their programme of study.
